The End is Near (not really)

Now that I’ve definitively finished setting up the plot of LleuGarnock, I’m moving through the plot at a pretty good rate. This means that I can actually envision the comic ending, which is both a happy and sad thought. Of course I don’t want it to end before I’ve gotten a chance to make it more awesome so more people will come read it. The longer a comic goes on, the more fame and profit it has a chance to attract.  But The Elves of LleuGarnock was never really meant to be that kind of project. It always had an end in view.

Once I reach that end, of course, there are all kinds of exciting things I can do with my time, like make a big book with the whole Elves of LleuGarnock story in it, and work on Dragon’s Fall at an actually good pace, and all kinds of things that I want to be able to do but don’t have time or mental energy for.  And of course, if people really want to know what happens after the Elves of LleuGarnock, I can always continue with the next book, The Elves of Linden Hold. Definitely taking a hiatus and doing some of those other things first, though.

The Elves of LleuGarnock is still going to take a year or three to finish. All I’m saying is that it seems more plausible now that it will eventually happen. I can imagine it. I can taste the denouement as if I am drawing it right now. Because as much as I love any project I work on, if it doesn’t end, I can get really sick of it.

I’m actually kind of sick of LG, but I promised myself and you guys I would finish it, dangit! And even when I just have to force myself to draw, it’s worthwhile, because I do love the story, and seeing the pages build up on the site one by one makes me feel like I’m using my talents for something tangible. Something that (I hope) other people are getting something out of.
